lyrics
I thought that I could change, grow up/forget the way it feels to give up everything for just one shot, but I woke up today and knew that nothing’s changed. I tried to shake it but most times it’s all I’ve got. The plans I made/the things I’d say are over despite this last stand to break the silence. A different path, another way is all there’s left to find. Deprived myself of this clarity for so long I lost what’s in front of me. I tried self-help as the remedy, but found out I’m no good on my own. So glad you found your way. Try not to lose the pace. I’ve watched you fade more times than I could care to count. So close, yet far away, but this time you swear you’ll make it count but I can’t help to still have my doubts. The absence of traction, my mind slips away. What once brimmed with passion now drips with decay to the floor where my body and actions betray the will I once had but now fight to maintain. If I walk out the door will they all stay the same? Wake up, get up and try again. Lie down. Replay the day’s events. Lights out and let the night sink in, but this thought still goes through my head: I never wanted anything but to be happy where I am. Time goes on when you’re gone.
